meet the staff

With a lifelong passion for dance, Miranda grew up on her studio’s company and competition

teams and performed in ten of her studio’s annual productions of The Nutcracker — with her

role as the Sugar Plum Fairy holding a special place in her heart.

At Carthage College, Miranda earned a minor in dance, choreographed six stage pieces, and

won two Best Choreography awards. As president of her college’s National Dance Education

Organization chapter, she led community events and fostered a creative dance community on

campus.

Miranda also holds a Master’s in French Literature from CU Boulder. She has spent a year

teaching English in southern France and has instructed eight college-level French courses.

Outside of the studio, Miranda enjoys reading, going to the movies, and spending time with her

husband, their dog Albus, and their cat Joi. She loves supporting students, families, and

teachers while helping foster an inspiring environment where dancers grow, perform, and thrive.

Katie Shelton, hailing from Connecticut, began dancing at age four, specializing in ballet and later adding jazz, tap, and hip hop to her repertoire. She achieved regional honors in competitions, including Teen Miss Superstar 1995 and awards for Dancer of the Year and Choreographer of the Year in the late 1990s.

Katie earned a dance and business management degree from Oklahoma City University on scholarship in 2003, focusing on tap dance under esteemed mentors. She has garnered accolades for her choreography, including the Outstanding Choreography Award from Nextar in 2009 and the Tap Excellence Award from Spotlight Dance Cup in 2010 for her students.

Beyond dance, Katie enjoys family time with her husband and two children. She takes pride in her 13-year tenure at PCDC, where she continues to teach and inspire.

Kelli, originally from Oklahoma City, began dancing at the age of 4 at To The Pointe Dance Academy and joined the competitive company at 11. Specializing in jazz and hip-hop, she has also trained in lyrical, contemporary, and musical theater. During high school, Kelli served as a student teacher, primarily working with pre-K through fifth-grade students.

A four-year member and captain of her high school varsity pom team, Kelli continued mentoring and training the team after graduation. Currently pursuing a minor in dance at the University of Colorado Boulder, she is set to graduate in 2027. Outside of dance, Kelli enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and building strong connections with her students.

Paityn, a Colorado native, has a deep passion for the performing arts. She began dancing at the age of 9 and quickly advanced to competitive dance, earning recognition, including a scholarship. As a teenager, she began teaching classes at her studio, working with students aged 2-18 across various styles, including hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap, modern, and ballet. Her training is complemented by performances, historical studies, and ongoing education. Paiytn is committed to fostering confidence and growth in her students, creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment.

Outside of dance, Paiytn works as a part-time manager at a retail store and assists at her family’s vintage shop in downtown Longmont. This August, she will begin studying interior design with a minor in dance at college.

TESTIMONIALS

PCDC has been my daughters dance home for 9 years and we could not be happier with the opportunities and instruction she has received there. She has made great friends and has grown as a dancer being part of their competitive teams. PCDC values the dancers family and plays a part in protecting your child's innocence while teaching them the art of dance. So happy we have PCDC here in Longmont!

Riana A.

I absolutely love PCDC! The staff is amazing and they are committed to helping all of their students improve their artistry in a welcoming and fun environment. You immediately become a part of their dance family. I was with them from when they opened until I graduated, so 9 years. I can't say enough good things about this studio! It was my home away from home! I am so grateful for my time at PCDC!
